Andrew (AJ) Sheehan represents employers and insurance carriers in defending workers' compensation claims. Mr. Sheehan also defends clients in a variety of civil litigation issues, such as insurance bad faith claims, employment claims, tort claims, complex litigation, commercial vehicle accidents, construction litigation, toxic torts and wrongful death. He defends general tort claims, including defamation, intentional torts, negligence and product liability. Mr. Sheehan also assists clients in pursuing and defending claims of subrogation and contractual indemnity.
Mr. Sheehan earned his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Upon graduation, he worked for the Illinois State Senate in the Communications Department. Thereafter, he attended law school at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale where he was on the Dean’s List and graduated with Cum Laude honors. While in law school, he also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Professional Responsibility, Labor Law, and Law Practice Management. He was also a member of Law Journal where he served as a staff writer and casenote/comment editor. As a writer, Mr. Sheehan’s two articles were awarded “Best Casenote” and “Best Comment” and selected for publication in the Journal’s Spring and Fall 2015 issues.
Mr. Sheehan currently resides in St. Louis. In his spare time, he enjoys watching the NFL, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Fighting Illini, and spending time with friends and family.
