Timothy Gaarder focuses his law practice in the areas of defense litigation and trial work, including personal injury litigation, product liability litigation, and workers' compensation defense.  He has successfully represented businesses, employers and insurance companies in both Kansas and Missouri.  He also effectively handles medical fee disputes and hospital lien cases stemming from personal injury and workers' compensation disputes.

In addition to his trial practice, Mr. Gaarder also represents several businesses throughout Kansas and Missouri including holding companies, landlords, tenants, and construction companies in the purchasing and leasing of commercial and residential real property.  He has successfully represented businesses for negotiation and completion of multi-million dollar leasing and purchasing arrangements.  He has also conducted and lectured at several seminars in the area of construction law.

Mr. Gaarder has extensive expertise in the burgeoning area of Medicare law, particularly regarding workers' compensation settlements and Medicare compliance.  He has successfully submitted workers' compensation set-aside trust proposals for Medicare's approval and effectively obtained zero- and low-dollar amounts approved for the establishment of those claimants' set-aside trust accounts, resulting in considerable financial savings to his clients.  As a member of the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals, Inc. (NAMSAP), Mr. Gaarder has attended, conducted and lectured at seminars on Medicare compliance and workers' compensation settlements. While in law school, Mr. Gaarder was awarded the C.A.L.I. Award of Excellence for Trial Advocacy.  He is a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and an ardent fan of the Missouri Tigers.

Mr. Gaarder is married and the father of three. He is a member of the parish council at his church, Visitation Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri.  He enjoys golfing, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.
