Elijah Haahr practices in the Springfield office of McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips. He specializes in civil litigation by defending the interests of small businesses and their insurers to minimize their liability in matters of work-related injuries, frivolous actions and personal injury claims. Prior to working for McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, Mr. Haahr defended hospitals and doctors in complex medical malpractice actions.
Mr. Haahr graduated with honors from the University of Missouri School of Law where he was a board member of the MU Board of Advocates and was a member of the inaugural class of the Elwood L. Thomas Inn of Courts. He also represented MU as a competitor at the regional level in Client Counseling and Trial Advocacy competitions and served as student coach for the nationally ranked Arbitration team. In his last year of law school, Mr. Haahr was selected as the National Student Director of the ABA's Appellate Advocacy Competition.
Mr. Haahr is also very involved in the Springfield Community. He is Vice-President of the Springfield Jaycees and serves on the Greene County Environmental Advisory Board. He is an active member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, the Missouri Western Alumni Association, and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. Mr. Haahr also serves on the Springfield Young Lawyers' Committee, the SMBA Workers' Compensation Committee and is a volunteer with the Springfield Adopt a Street program. He is married to Amanda Haahr, who serves as an attorney with the Social Security Administration.
