Brent Johnston focuses his practice on representing employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation matters.  He helps insurance companies reach favorable resolutions with injured workers by successfully negotiating settlement agreements.  In addition, Mr. Johnston drafts submission letters, proposed awards, trial briefs, and researches and drafts memoranda regarding various workers' compensation issues.

While attending Washburn University School of Law, Mr. Johnston served as Comments Editor for the Washburn Law Journal.  He authored The Federal Tax Personality of Disregarded LLCs, which was published in Volume 47 of the Journal.  In addition, Mr. Johnston volunteered as a Student Ambassador, participated in the Christian Legal Society, and served as Vice President of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.

Mr. Johnston enjoys anything related to sports, likes to sing and listen to good music, and loves to spend time with his family.  He and his wife live in Liberty, Missouri with their three energetic children.  Mr. Johnston is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  After graduating high school, Mr. Johnston spent 2 years in Argentina as a volunteer missionary.  He currently serves as a Webelos leader in a local Boy Scouts of America troop.
