James Wolf works with insurance companies throughout Missouri and Kansas on a variety of workers' compensation issues. He successfully defends many workers' compensation claims, receiving court awards finding claims to be noncompensable. His experience is in defending workers' compensation claims on many bases, including preexisting injuries, termination for cause, the coming and going rule, idiopathic injuries and video surveillance.
Mr. Wolf's expertise is forming Medicare trust accounts, including determining the necessity of Medicare set-aside trust proposals, reviewing medical evidence to determine the lowest amounts Medicare will approve, developing set-aside proposals, submitting trust proposals to Medicare, gaining Medicare's approval of trusts and setting up trust accounts. He defends medical fee disputes in both Kansas and Missouri and successfully recovers money for insurance companies from the Kansas Workers' Compensation Fund.
A shareholder with McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, Mr. Wolf conducts numerous seminars on workers' compensation benefits, wage calculation, reporting requirements, drug and alcohol defenses, repetitive trauma injuries, and Medicare set-aside trust requirements.
Apart from his successful legal career, Mr. Wolf has performed improvisational comedy for disabled children.
